Dr. Zhou completed his Ph.D. in Medical Imaging at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Medical School. His graduate work was carried out under the mentorship of Professors Minghua Li and David F. Kallmes in the field of neuroradiology. In addition, he has completed a study of assessing the link between vitamin D deficiency and intracranial dolichoectasia formation in an experimental mouse model at the Mayo Clinic, Minnesota USA. Following the completion of his training in 2017, he pursued another Ph.D. program at the University of Toronto, Ontario, and he is currently studying the pathobiology of cardiovascular diseases. As a Neurointerventionist and Clinician Scientist, his clinical interest is in the interventional aspect of cerebral vascular disorders and solid tumors treatment; he performed more than 1000 interventional procedures. His laboratory investigates the biology of endothelial cells in the healthy vessels and in brain vascular diseases, such as brain aneurysms and atherosclerosis. He has authored or co-authored 19 peer reviewed publications, and he is the co-author of several textbooks.
